EDIT (11/10/14): Notes regarding who you are drawing for have been sent! Please post submissions christmas morning! Thank you!
EDIT: DEADLINE EXTENDED! PLEASE spread the word so more people can join!
Alrighty guys, although I am rather busy and generally do not update as often, I figured that I should do something fun for the upcoming holidays! So, yep, that's right, a Fumi Dragon Secret Santa!
After I got my Fumi dragon thanks to the lovely SilverWindStar via a MYO event hosted by Fumi-LEX, I have fallen in love with these critters and been itching to host a Secret Santa for people who have fumi dragons! Here's how it works:
You must comment on this journal with links/thumbs of the reference sheet(s) of your fumi dragon(s) as well as their basic information, personality, and what you would most like to see be drawn if you have a preference. Please also include examples of your Fumi Dragon drawings, whether you intend to make your gift digitally or traditionally, and if you would prefer to receive a digital or traditional drawing, or 'no preference'. I will put down my own comment if you would like to see an example! I will give each person a number, and by the entry deadline, I will try to pair people off. Also let me know if you can draw fairly complex designs; if you aren't able to draw very complex designs, I won't give you someone with complex Fumis!
By pair, I don't mean an art trade. You won't know who's drawing for you! For example, if we have persons A, B, and c, although A may draw for B, B does not draw for A, nor know that A is drawing for them. B would draw for C, and C would draw for A. That way, everyone gets a drawing, and it's always a surprise!
If you need to ask your person a question, let me know! I will be the middleman to avoid ruining the surprise!
I will try my best to link people off based on their skill levels, but I can't whole-ly guarantee you'll get something fantastic considering that I cannot predict how seriously someone will take this event. If you fail to draw your part and leave someone without a gift, you are banned from any of my future events, including free art events and raffles for a whole year. If someone is heartless enough to do that, I and any other wonderful volunteers will be creating replacement art.
To Qualify, You Must:
-Own at least one Fumi Dragon!
-Be a visual artist (draw, basically!)
-Be active on deviant art and have at least five
pieces in your gallery representative of your artistic
ability (this is to make sure people are not in it for
free art... cheapos!)
-Be willing to draw for others; you must give to get!
-Abide by all the rules!
(If your gallery is full of base art, colored lineart that is not yours, or traced/copied art, I cannot determine what your real skill level is, therefore you won't be allowed to participate. I reserve the right to turn people away for any reasons. I can generally spot this fairly easily. In the event that a tracer does get past me (it happens, I'm human), they will be removed from the event when evidence of tracing is provided. People deserve gifts made from scratch and from the heart. )
If you have any questions, by all means let me know ;o;
I hope to see people join

Rules:
-No bases, dolls, pre-mades, or traced art
-All art must be original and 100% made by you!
-All art must be neat and well-made! NO incomplete sketches
or terribly messy art! This event is meant to spread love, cheer,
and christmas gifts among the Fumi Community! Not frustration
and disappointment. >w>
-Art MUST be colored (come on.. no one wants to receive a quickie
messy sketch if they give their all on THEIR gift! Not fair!)
-Shading and backgrounds are not required, but I am sure your
recipient would be very happy if you choose to include them!
-If your recipient has more than one fumi, feel free to draw as many
of their fumis in their picture!
-No stealing the art or characters of others!
-Fumis only!
-Although dA is home to a number of traditional artists (which is great!),
in order to give the best gift possible, you must scan your images so
that the reciever can actually see them at their best quality. NO photos
of drawings. If you do not think you will be able to scan your gift at all,
please try making your gift digitally, which is preferable in most cases
unless otherwise specified by the receiver.
-All art must be posted on the deadline! Christmas day, December 25th!
-Please do not submit your entry before the deadline, that ruins the Christmas
Morning surprise!
-You can make more than one gift for your recipient if you would like to! But they
must all be submitted on the due date. At least one must be a nice piece as the
rules require; additional gifts can be simple headshots to sketchpages, pixels,
icons, etc!

Returning to dA (finally!)
Hello all! I hope this journal finds you well. You may have seen in my gallery, but I have finally added some of my backlogged art to my gallery that I had been saying I would upload for the last year and a half. After surviving company layoffs and having my hours cut, I am finally kicking my butt into gear to return to being a working/posting artist. Not only from a monetary sense, but I do really miss how prolific I used to be in creating art, and it used to be something I was so passionate about and motivated in doing. I feel like I am facing so many more hurdles now with the way technology, social media, NFT/Ai art and all the other bullshit has affected the landscape for artists, but what the hell was the point of trying in the first place if I give up now, right? I will not be returning to full-time art for income as it lacks the stability and healthcare that a non-art job provides, but I will do my best to squeeze more art into my hours for myself and for work. For anyone
Hey! Does anyone still use this site?
Hello, all! Long time no see, yeah? I wonder if anyone will see this, I have been spending most of my time on twitter, and fell out of keeping all other medias and galleries up to date. My life had taken an unexpected turn of difficulty, and I had fallen out of creating art for a while, so it took me longer to complete my existing queue and feel comfortable to take more paid work, and in general creating art was kind of a slow and clunky process as I was recovering from some difficult life changes (and still continue to do so, and adjust as needed). I am trying to return intensively to art, and reconnect with art communities. I have realized now more than ever the significant importance of staying in touch with my creative side, reaping the reward of bringing art into the world, and having a place to jam on art, characters, media, etc and, the fruitful reward of freelancing and working one on one with clients to bring their vision into reality... I miss it all, so I am making my way
Commissions Open! (between jobs lol)
Hey all! Long time no see. Life's been wacky and kept me so busy, and now some recent life changes have me circling back to having the availability to take commissions again. My hours at the art studio I teach at are severely cut, and we are scheduled to close at the end of the year as the building is being demolished, so I am on that job hunt while fully throwing myself back into art to balance out my income as I am between jobs. SO WITH THAT SAID, I am open for commissions, any kind! Check out my twitter for most up to date art as I frantically catch up my galleries here. Price Guide: https://www.deviantart.com/rainbow-foxy/journal/Commission-Prices-and-Examples-2021-OPEN-699651594 For the baller on a budget, I also offer PWYW artistic freedom commissions with a minimum of $25 and no maximum limit. I work well with artistic freedom + character + moodboard I also offer private art lessons and live drawing commissions for $45/hour More info on that here:
ANNOUNCEMENT - Art Mentorships and Patreon
Hello all! Hope everyone has been well, and keeping safe and healthy. I have been working diligently these last few days on Re-Launching my Patreon, and the bulk of the set up is now all done! I have a public blog post on my Patreon explaining in detail what I learned from the first time I tried Patreon, why it didn't work out, and what to expect from the Re-Launch moving forward. Find the post here! https://www.patreon.com/posts/43580725 Find my Patreon page here! https://www.patreon.com/RainbowFoxyArt/ Through Patreon, I want to include and involve my audience into the decisions and process of my work, and give back to the community that has uplifted and helped shape me as an artist. I will be creating at least 1 Patron-Sponsored art piece a month, and 1 Patron-Sponsored Presentation where patrons can directly influence and contribute to the decisions of what I work on, and what projects I create. Patrons will be able to suggest and vote on ideas for each. My other passion in
